Increasing the knowledge and practice of regenerative solutions to build climate resilience: Re-alliance

Capacity building for Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change Adaptation: YMCA Madagascar

Nuestra Génesis: Capacity building for Urban Climate Resilience.

Adapt40 is working with Nuestra Génesis to increase knowledge on the impacts of climate hazards, reduce vulnerability to their impacts, and enable Nuestra Génesis and urban poor communities in Cali, Colombia, to reduce their risk. We are focusing on community-level, nature-based solutions to flooding, landslides, and water scarcity. Participatory training sessions will enable improved identification of hazards and vulnerability hotspots and detail measures to build capacity and reduce sensitivities.

YMCA Madagascar: Capacity building for Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change Adaptation.

Adapt40 has been working with YMCA Madagascar since 2023 to support the communities they work with regarding Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change Adaptation. In 2023, Adapt40 contributed to YMCA Madagascar's preparations for the 2022/2023 cyclone season - this included technical advice and also the provision of disaster preparedness equipment and supplies.  The team then delivered four modules in English and French to the staff and volunteers of YMCA Madagascar to contribute to capacity building towards disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation. Adapt40 have since given financial support to YMCA Madagascar to facilitate the provision of disaster preparedness equipment to community organisations for the 2024/2025 cyclone season. In November 2025, Adapt40 delivered an updated training to 43 staff and volunteers of different branches on YMCA Madagascar, focusing on community risk and vulnerability assessments and community-based early warning systems.
