Resilience and Mitigation Capacity Building for Investment Planning in Egypt, Uganda, Antigua and Barbuda

This project recognises the unique vulnerabilities of medium-sized cities in developing countries: while they are highly vulnerable to climate risks, they often lack the institutional capacity and resources to effectively address them. ECA, Adapt40, Econoler, and PuREsources have been working together on the UNIDO-GEF “Piloting Innovative Financing for Climate Adaptation Technologies in Medium-sized Cities”.

Adapt40 are providing resilience and mitigation expertise, supporting governments of Antigua and Barbuda, Egypt and Uganda.

Services provided include:

  • Supporting identification of suitable investment projects in each country;

  • Conducting Climate Adaptation and Resilience Assessments for identified investment projects in each of the countries;

  • Leading local coordination in Antigua and Barbuda;

  • Devising estimates for foregone costs of rehabilitation/ reconstruction over at least 15 years through CBAs;

  • Developing and delivering knowledge and capacity building support on climate change adaptation and resilience;

  • Delivering capacity development training across the three countries.
