Resilience and Mitigation Capacity Building for Investment Planning in Egypt, Uganda, Antigua and Barbuda

In recognition of the unique climate vulnerabilities of medium-sized cities in low- and middle-income countries, UNIDO has established a multi-country project to build institutional capacity and provide technical resources to strengthen climate resilience and mitigation planning for infrastructure projects.

Working in a consortium, Adapt40 is leading the resilience technical support to the countries of Antigua and Barbuda, Egypt and Uganda on the UNIDO-GEF project “Piloting Innovative Financing for Climate Adaptation Technologies in Medium-sized Cities”.

As part of ongoing project, Adapt40 are providing:

  • Supporting identification of suitable investment projects in each country;

  • Conducting Climate Adaptation and Resilience Assessments for identified investment projects in each country;

  • Leading local coordination in Antigua and Barbuda;

  • Developing a Project Funding Proposal for the Adaptation Fund for Antigua and Barbuda;

  • Devising estimates for foregone costs of rehabilitation/ reconstruction over at least 15 years through cost-benefit analysis;

  • Developing and delivering in-person knowledge and capacity building support on climate change adaptation and resilience;
