Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change Adaptation Advisors for Partnerships for Infrastructure

Partnership for Infrastructure (P4I): 2022 - 2025

Adapt40 worked across the Partnership for Infrastructure (P4I) Programme, providing specialist technical advisory services such as guidance, quality assurance and other technical inputs into their sustainable infrastructure projects across South-East Asia. Adapt40’s specialists, who have a range of experience across the telecommunications, transport, water and utilities sectors, provide advisory services to ensure P4I’s projects integrate climate resilience and mitigation best practice from project conceptualisation to implementation.

P4I activities which the Adapt40 Team supported included:

  • Cambodia - Updating Cambodia’s Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MPWT) technical standards and infrastructure guidance material. This is led by Austroads with the support of the P4I Delivery Partners through a Government-to-Government (G2G) partnership.

  • Lao PDR - Providing DRRCC advisory services for the Laos-Australia Connectivity Partnership Project, which is delivered in partnership with the Government of Laos (GoL) that seeks to improve transport connectivity and infrastructure governance practices through various service modalities, including technical advice and capacity development.  This includes the development of cross-border facilities, logistics facilities and a transport strategy (including contingency planning). Adapt40 also is providing advisory services for the Laos-Australia Sustainable Energy Partnership (LASEP)

  • Vietnam - Advising P4Is energy sector work in Vietnam with how best to ensure climate mitigation and resilience ambitions can be met. This included a climate risk assessment for Green Bunkering Facilities.

  • The team were also the DRRCC Country Portfolio Managers for Lao PDR, Thailand, Indonesia, Cambodia and Vietnam.
